According to our report, a stunning 85% of U.S. travelers are willing to alter their travel plans. They do this simply because it’s cheaper. For travelers hoping to get the deepest possible discount, the greatest savings week to travel is highlighted as August 25-31th. Surprisingly, this week presents travelers with the best chance to maximize their dollars just as everyone is booking summer trips!

Skyscanner further makes it easy for travelers to explore more for less by shining a light on ten of the most budget-friendly destinations. JFK to MIA on a Tuesday in June with prices starting at a bit over $200. It is possible to go to San Francisco in September for under $300. New destinations like Fort Lauderdale, Myrtle Beach and Hilo offer easy access to warm-weather retreats for travelers looking for affordable summer getaways.

Traveling midweek can further enhance savings. On Wednesdays, the average summer airfare drops to about $878, making mid-week flights much more affordable than weekend travel. This move further confirms the trend that shifting travel days can save travelers significant amounts of money.
