Trophy Nut Company Issues Recall of Honey-Roasted Peanuts Due to Undeclared Allergen

The Trophy Nut Company is recalling 143 cases of its Heinen’s brand 8.25-ounce cans of honey-roasted peanuts. This decision followed at least one consumer’s experience with an allergic reaction. The recall was caused by a manufacturing error. This error probably resulted in cashews, an undeclared allergen, being included in the peanut products.

These cans ended up in Heinen’s grocery stores across Ohio and Illinois. The distribution period would have run from October 24, 2024, through April 4, 2025. Find the products that say “best if used by” after October 1, 2025. You’ll spot some labeled with a “best by” date of October 3, 2025.

If you purchased these honey-roasted peanuts, please take them back to your nearest Heinen’s supermarket for a full refund. You will be refunded in full with no questions asked! Officials stress that it is no joke out there—especially for those with allergies.

“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to cashews run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product,” – FDA

The FDA has released a public notice regarding this recall. Both of these groups stress the importance of public awareness about undeclared allergens on food products. The Trophy Nut Company reported that it was a second investigation that discovered the problem. It was an unfortunate consequence of a short-lived breakdown in their production and packaging lines.

For additional information or with any questions about the recall, contact the Trophy Nut Company’s customer service hotline at. You can reach them by phone at 1-800-729-6887.

This recall comes just weeks after a similar Great Value cashew incident, where undeclared allergens triggered the need for a recall. Incidents like these underscore the uphill battle for food manufacturers to produce safe food with imperfect safety standards.

Fox News Digital has reached out to the Trophy Nut Company for further comment. Their appeal was met with silence.
