Taco Bell Insider Reveals Menu Hacks and Employee Pet Peeves

A Taco Bell manager from an undisclosed franchise has shared intriguing insights and behind-the-scenes knowledge with the public on Reddit. The employee's revelations provide customers with tips on maximizing their orders’ value, as well as exposing some lesser-known menu secrets. From nacho cheese portions to the best value meal, the Reddit post is a treasure trove for Taco Bell enthusiasts eager to optimize their dining experience.

The manager revealed that customers can indulge in a large portion of nacho cheese for just $3. However, this portion comprises only two pumps, and any requests for a smaller amount might not sit well with the staff. The employee admitted to experiencing a moderate level of irritation, rating such orders a 6 out of 10 on the annoyance scale.

Furthermore, the manager recommended the Luxe Craving box, priced at $7, as the most cost-effective meal currently available on the menu.

Adding to the excitement, Taco Bell has recently introduced chicken nuggets to its menu. The manager expressed enthusiasm for this new addition, asserting that they are indeed worth the hype.

The employee also offered valuable advice on customizing orders efficiently. Customers should mention any ingredients they wish to remove first before adding extras. This strategy helps minimize errors and waste in the kitchen.

“It helps the line people, for example if you ask for a quesadilla, no sauce, extra cheese, we won’t put the sauce on there but if we hear quesadilla extra cheese…no sauce, we might have already put the sauce on there and it creates a lot of waste,” – Anonymous Taco Bell employee

Another interesting tidbit involves the creamy Jalapeño sauce, which can be ordered in bulk through the app. While not prohibited, obtaining bags of this sauce could earn customers some unwelcome attention from employees.

Lastly, the manager highlighted a crucial aspect of order preparation: grilling time. Each grilled item takes precisely 17 seconds to cook, which can contribute to delays during peak periods.

“The reason is because grilling things takes an extra step in the process. It takes 17 seconds to grill something which adds up when you have a lot of orders,” – Anonymous Taco Bell employee
