Private Jet Travel Soars as Australians Seek Luxury and Convenience

Australia is in the midst of a private jet travel boom. Privileged families and corporate fleets are eager to avoid the hubbub of crowded commercial terminals. As a market leader in bespoke private aviation, FalconAir has recently experienced a tremendous increase in demand for chartered flights. This practice has become particularly trendy among birthday parties and golf outings. The convenience factor, however phony, and the luxurious experience of flying private has an ever-growing swath of customers lining up to be served.

Laura Younes, chief executive of FalconAir, highlighted that birthday groups often embark on interstate journeys to major cities for weekend celebrations. These organizations have taken advantage of every inch of the expansive single cabin of the Dassault Falcon executive jet. It carries 10 or more passengers, an introspective journey through an extraordinary open-plan layout. This configuration makes for a comfortable space aboard with great food and a vibrant atmosphere.

The Cirrus Jet is an ideal fit for the small group. It advertises little excursions from Sydney to Melbourne for $6,700 USD for four grownups and two kids. Younes acknowledged that the price will seem steep, especially compared to commercial air travel. When you look at the convenience and time savings of private travel, which is certainly much more competitive.

The golfers are on fire about the thrill of short direct flights right to their fancy and remote golf courses in Australia and New Zealand. Without this alternative, they would otherwise have to suffer dozens of uncomfortable airline flights and arduous interstate car drives.

The reservation process for a charter flight begins with clients providing their intended travel route, special requests and time constraints. FalconAir checks aircraft availability and provides quotes. Once you sign the contract, your trip is locked in. This lets FalconAir optimize its coordination with airports, air traffic control, caterers, refuellers, and other stakeholders.

For migration travelers, charter flights were the clear preference over commercial travel by 2022. In 2020, they carried more passengers than the third airline Rex, making them responsible for bringing 13 percent of all air travelers in Australia domestically. This was a sharp rise from the 8.6 percent share of domestic travel they had pre-pandemic. According to the Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics’ January 2023 report, charter flights have increased by 28 percent since 2020.

Paul O’Brien, founder of Avmin, noted that commercial flight availability is starting to recover, coming back to the level of pre-pandemic times. Meanwhile, private jet travel is doing better than ever. He said he remains optimistic that this segment of the market will stay strong.

“I don’t envisage a downturn anytime soon by private jet users as they’ve experienced everything there is with the convenience and luxury of a private jet,” – Paul O’Brien

While commercial air travel has evolved around a condensed schedule, private jet travelers have little need for the inconvenience of modern luxuries. Entry-level charters start at about $1,200 an hour. Premium long-haul routes can reach up to $12,000 per hour according to Air Charter Advisors.

>On private jets, premium catering and highly attentive service are standard. On board, the client will enjoy an exclusive fine dining experience with high-end catering and premium drinks. At the same time, our extraordinarily knowledgeable, professionally trained and customer-focused flight attendants are always prepared to meet even the most discerning clients’ requests, Younes concluded.

Perhaps even more than usage trends, the accessibility of charter jets has gotten much easier thanks to fractional ownership and membership programs. All these changes have had the effect of lowering the cost for people to get a ride on a private jet.

“There are also new ways to gain access to charter jets through methods such as fractional ownership, memberships, subscriptions and empty legs. All these changes make it far easier and much more affordable to get a seat on a private jet,” – Laura Younes

Private jets benefit from immediate deplaning once they land at their destination. Younes explained that after engines have cut, clients are free to deplane without delay. Hundreds more hop into a waiting car and are well beyond the airport just minutes after they land.

With Australians travelling more privately than ever before, still requiring safe and new journey options, FalconAir is dedicated to providing quality service to its diverse clients. The company has been strategic in carving out a niche with diverse populations. Whether it’s a birthday party or a golfing weekend, their hosts make sure each and every trip provides a memorable experience.

“When it comes to prices, especially once all the available seats are filled, a private jet competes very well with the premium offerings from the airlines, especially if the trip is planned at the last minute,” – Laura Younes
