Pilgrimage Returns with New Celebrities for Easter Trek

BBC Two’s hit series Pilgrimage returns this Easter Sunday at 9pm. Over six episodes, seven new famous faces will undergo the same transformative journey across some of the most breathtaking scenery in the Austrian and Swiss Alps. Participants will take an exhilarating 300-kilometer (186-mile) journey along a traditional Catholic pilgrimage trail, beginning just east of Austria and culminating at the beautiful Einsiedeln Abbey near Lake Zurich, Switzerland.

Former winner of reality show The Traitors Harry Clark presents this exhilarating three-part series. It will include celebrities of all faiths and none, putting those interfaith and nonfaith perspectives center stage. Beyond the rigors of strenuous climbs, the featured diverse cast will confront the mental and emotional challenges steeped in intergenerational trauma. Along the way, they’ll go on a spiritual adventure that expands their view of faith and spirituality.

Mashall Harry Clark Healy is looking forward to the coming IFTI trek. His military training has prepared him to face the physical hurdles ahead, which are formidable.

“I was in the army for nearly seven years, so the walking and hiking even though it was a lot, it was fine.” – Harry Clark

There’s going to be some jaw dropping scenery that will completely wow the cast and audience.

“We walked 15-20 kilometers a day, up the Alps which was stunning; you didn’t have the chance to moan because the views were beautiful.” – Harry Clark

Though the journey is physically taxing on the kids, it’s the emotional side that Clark said is just as important. Then he explored his own relationship to the pilgrimage experience.

“I struggle with seeing other people so lost in their faith; for someone like me, I felt so at home on this pilgrimage.” – Harry Clark

Pilgrimage has long history of intertwining physical challenge with inner discovery. It challenges participants to challenge their assumptions and to learn alongside their classmates of other faith traditions. It is the combination of breathtaking beauty and intimate introspection that makes for a captivating, moving documentary experience.

“I felt like I was exactly where I needed to be on this journey.” – Harry Clark

Given its history of blending physical challenge with introspective exploration, Pilgrimage encourages participants to confront their beliefs while engaging with peers from differing faiths. The combination of stunning scenery and personal reflection promises to offer viewers an engaging and thought-provoking experience.
