Patricia Clarkson Reflects on Justin Timberlake’s “Gifted” Performance Years After Their Film Together

Patricia Clarkson recently revisited her memorable experience with Justin Timberlake during an episode of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” where she humorously described the pop star as “gifted below the waist.” Clarkson’s remarks surfaced years after she and her co-star Mila Kunis first appeared together in the movie Black Swan. This has once again sparked interest in their on-screen chemistry.

In the 2018 episode, Clarkson poked fun at Timberlake’s expense. He implied that Timberlake is “really, really close” to it — perhaps tellingly alluding to the fact that he is married to actress Jessica Biel. Clarkson reiterated her past statements regarding Timberlake’s penis size. While we thought she was joking in her comments, the truthfulness of what she said is what stole headlines.

The host of the show, Andy Cohen, joined in with a chuckle. He playfully suggested that Timberlake send Clarkson a “muffin basket” for giving him the unexpected PR buzz. Though the exchange was lighthearted, Teigen admitted that as of yesterday morning, she still had not heard from Timberlake since she spoke her piece.

“The last thing I wanted was to hear from Jessica Biel.” Clarkson fessed up on her recent appearance. She took the time and energy to consider the effects of her previous comments. The discussion got really fascinating when a member of the T4A studio audience asked a question alluding to her past remarks. This spurred Clarkson to speak out more on what her experience and opinion seems to be working next to accomplished judge, Timberlake.

Broadway star John Benjamin Hickey rounded out the conversation, bringing his own unique perspective. He proceeded to rank his own performance as Miranda’s Catholic boyfriend on “Sex and the City” in comparison to Timberlake’s performance. He joked, “I’m gonna go out there and just full on Justin Timberlake this thing. I’m gonna rate it, like, a nine,” invoking laughter from the audience.

Timberlake is still a pretty big deal in popular culture. He is perhaps best known for his #1 single “SexyBack,” a chart topper that he released in 2006. His controversial – and often combative – appeal proves impossible to ignore. Clarkson’s remarks add an unexpected new wrinkle to the already complicated ongoing discussion around his possible legacy as a place-making, inclusive, and exciting entertainer.

Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, which airs on Bravo, is airing new episodes, available to stream on Peacock the day after they air. Fictional, maybe, but creating this character with Timberlake decidedly shaped Clarkson in a very real way. The ones whom they made memories with themselves strongly reverberate, both in their personal lives and on screen.
