A newly established task force under the House Oversight Committee is set to delve into some of the most contentious and long-standing mysteries in American history. The task force, spearheaded by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.), will investigate the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, along with other subjects including Jeffrey Epstein's client list, unidentified aerial phenomena, the origins of COVID-19, and government files related to the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
President Trump's recent executive order declassified and released numerous files related to the assassinations of JFK, RFK, and Martin Luther King Jr., unearthing approximately 14,000 pages of material related to JFK alone. This initiative builds on these efforts, aiming to review and publicly release thousands of JFK assassination files. The House Select Committee on Assassinations had previously concluded in 1979 that Kennedy "was probably assassinated as a result of a conspiracy."

The Warren Commission, a nearly year-long government probe, determined that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in Kennedy's assassination. However, Rep. Luna expressed skepticism about this conclusion, suggesting that "two shooters" were involved. Luna noted that "there’s been conflicting evidence" and mentioned anomalies reported by the FBI during the initial autopsy at Bethesda, Maryland.

The task force plans to summon attending physicians from the initial assassination and individuals who participated in various commissions investigating the event to provide testimony. Their goal is to uncover the full truth and dispel longstanding theories surrounding JFK's assassination.

In addition to investigating JFK's assassination, the task force will probe other federal secrets like Epstein's client list and unidentified aerial phenomena. Their comprehensive scope reflects an ambition to clarify and resolve various controversies.
