Nationwide Recall Alert for Popular Small Bites and Jinga Glass Noodles

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a nationwide recall for two popular food products due to undeclared egg and meat ingredients. The recall affects "365 Whole Foods Market Small Bites Macaroni & Cheese," produced by C.H. Guenther & Son LLC of San Antonio, Texas, as well as Jinga Glass Noodles with Vegetables (Japche), distributed by HAR Maspeth Corporation of Maspeth, New York. This recall has been prompted by concerns over potential allergens that are not listed on the packaging, posing serious health risks to consumers with specific food allergies.

The recalled Small Bites Macaroni & Cheese were available at Whole Foods Market locations across the United States. These products are identifiable by the UPC code 99482499709 and come in 8-ounce and 12-ounce clear plastic packaging. The affected "best-by" dates range from March 13, 2025, through March 18, 2025. The presence of undeclared egg and meat ingredients in these products has raised concerns over potential allergic reactions.

“Consumers who are allergic to eggs may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product,” the FDA’s site warns.

C.H. Guenther & Son LLC has confirmed that the issue leading to the recall has been addressed, assuring consumers that no other manufacturing dates or lots are impacted.

“This issue has been corrected and no other manufacturing dates or lots are impacted,” states the FDA’s site.

In a similar recall, Jinga Glass Noodles with Vegetables (Japche) distributed to H Mart stores in multiple states have also been flagged due to undeclared egg contents. Customers may have purchased these products between February 6, 2025, and March 11, 2025. The recalled packages can be identified by UPC codes 265405006495, 267405004495, 266405008496, and 268405005499. New York State’s Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors discovered the presence of eggs in the 8- and 12-ounce packages, which were not declared on the product labels.

Consumers who have purchased these specific packages are encouraged to return them for a full refund.
