Hilary Duff, the adored Disney Channel star from “Lizzie McGuire” has found herself in hot water lately. Critics have alleged her appearance at eye level and the fact she uses Botox. The attack came after an Internet troll challenged her on why she would want to get cosmetic work done. Duff’s husband, Matthew Koma, quickly jumped to her defense, providing a cutting reply that shut down the hater in her tracks.

She shares a 13-year-old son named Luca with her ex-husband Mike Comrie and has three daughters—Banks, 6, Mae, 4 and Townes, 11 months—with Koma. Since becoming a star as a teenager, Duff has been under the public microscope since she was a child. She has spoken out about the crushing expectation women face to look a certain way.
In a May 2022 interview with Women’s Health, Duff opened up about her beauty regimen. She shared that the package includes monthly facials and Botox treatments. She shared unapologetic, body-positive photos and encouraged accepting that our bodies change after having children. To honor the occasion, she even stripped down nude for a magazine cover.
Recently, a troll sparked backlash by questioning Duff’s choice to utilize Botox: “Why did she do Botox, I swear to god everyone else is the same.” Supporters rallied around this comment. Specifically, they wanted to draw attention to the commitment and care that mothers such as Duff put into their looks.
In addition to his wife, Koma defended himself against the troll’s comments on social media. He commented on the absurdity of the attack while calling out the troll by name: “Get fckd butterfly.” Koma’s fiery response struck a chord with fans, who applauded Koma for supporting Duff.

Unsurprisingly, Duff herself has recognized the blood, sweat, and tears women have put into their beauty regimes. She stated, “We bust our ass to get our bodies in shape and to look the best we can. We get facials and Botox and our hair done and highlights and brows and lash lifts and all this s–t.”
