Kansas City Woman Transforms Body and Bones with Unique Surgery

Emily James, a 27-year-old trans woman from Kansas City, recently underwent a transformative experience by having six of her ribs removed in an elective cosmetic surgery. The procedure, costing $17,000, was completed over three days and aimed to provide her with a smaller waistline. Post-surgery, James wore a corset around the clock to manage swelling, while the pain from the surgery remained minimal at only 2 out of 10. She expressed gratitude towards her medical team for their effective pain management.

James's decision has sparked a variety of reactions, with many individuals making jokes and comments about her choice. Despite this, she remains unfazed and has chosen not to respond to critics.

“It is my money, my body and I’m going to do what I want with it,” she stated confidently.

In a creative twist, James intends to commemorate her journey by having a crown made from her removed ribs. This unique plan is her way of celebrating the changes she has made to her body. While some have humorously suggested alternative uses for the ribs, such as turning them into chew toys or broth, James declined these ideas. In particular, she dismissed suggestions of consuming the ribs, citing health concerns.

“Eating human meat can cause a plethora of disorders that are fatal,” she explained.

“In three days I’m getting three ribs removed on each side,” James had announced prior to the surgery.

As she recovers in Missouri, James continues to focus on her personal journey and goals. Her story highlights the lengths individuals are willing to go to achieve their desired self-image and the importance of autonomy over one's body.
