The Met Gala, possibly the biggest night on the fashion calendar, happened Monday night. What it usually did best was treat viewers to a sparkly cavalcade of A-list glamour. From laser-cut armor to bodywear powered by AI, this year’s event took daring to a whole new level. New talents and seasoned legends dazzled on the red carpet. All of them delivered a powerful message with their distinct outfits.
Among those notable appearances was model Gigi Hadid, who dazzled gawkers in a plunging metallic beaded Miu Miu gown. The iridescent rainbow fabric accentuated her curvaceous body, giving her an angelic appearance of sorts.
Doja Cat channeled her inner explorer in Marc Jacobs exploratory ensemble. She rocked out in an amazing leopard print that totally matched with the pinstripes. Her outfit was as much about her daring choice of fashion as it was about her love of the dramatic.
Kendall Jenner in a design to turn heads by Torishéju. The contoured fit of the ensemble, highlighted by a dramatic plunging neckline, sent fans and the fashion world into a frenzy. The balance of elegance and edge in her outfit perfectly captured her reputation as a fashion trailblazer.
Janelle Monáe brought a modern twist to classic tailoring with her red, black, and white pinstripe suit designed by Thom Browne. The combined sound was at once meticulous and elegant yet kind of fun.
Demi Moore opted for a more structural approach with her black and white gown, designed by Thom Browne. The overarching design’s striking form really stole the show on the red carpet.
Megan Thee Stallion sparkled in a custom Michael Kors gown. That impressive gown with the leggy split was the ultimate fusion of glitz and sexy. Her strong and dazzling presence only heightened the night’s thrills.
In an unexpected turn, André 3000 arrived wearing a Burberry x Benjamin Bixby creation, complete with a giant piano strapped to his back. This extraordinary accessory was an apt reflection of the title of his brand new EP, “7 Piano Sketches.” It wasn’t simply a fashion decision; it was an artistic statement.
Audra McDonald was a knockout in this ivory Harbison Studio gown with matching cape. Tracee Ellis Ross kicked it up a notch by going for comfort and was chic in an oversized jacket and pink balloon pants by Marc Jacobs.
Whoopi Goldberg presented a chic look in a custom black and white Thom Browne outfit complemented by spectator shoes, demonstrating that style can be both fun and sophisticated.
Diana Ross turned heads wearing a custom Ugo Mozie creation (see above and below). The gown’s long train, embroidered with her family’s names, seamlessly tied deeply personal sentiment to fashion’s most rarified aesthetic in a single work.
Sabrina Carpenter (@sabrinacarpenter) got everyone talking in a super chic all-black bodysuit by Louis Vuitton. On another note, Lizzo brought down the house in a black and white dramatic floor-grazing gown by Christian Siriano. Venus Williams went for sporty elegance with this hit of a look. She completed the look with a green polo and pleated skirt — long cape by Lacoste — chic!
Zendaya brought her fashion A-game, above in a gorgeous white three-piece pantsuit by Louis Vitton. She displayed her profound range as an actress and as a fashion reference.
The Met Gala continues to serve as a platform for creative expression through fashion, where each attendee tells their own story through their attire.
