For the first time Guernsey Mind have proudly gained a coveted place in the famous London Marathon. This award is a huge accomplishment for the local mental health nonprofit. The marathon will take place on 26 April 2026. Guernsey Mind looks forward to building on this fantastic opportunity!

In a bid to secure this coveted spot, Guernsey Mind entered the charity ballot, hoping for a chance to participate. So when the organization heard it had made it into the top 500 charities to get a guaranteed slot, they were overjoyed. Jo Cottell, Chief Executive of Guernsey Mind, said she was ‘absolutely delighted’ with the announcement.

We ask our successful runner for Guernsey Mind to pledge to raise at least £2500. Every penny we raise goes to Guernsey Mind, so all the help stays where it’s needed — at home. That would be a big departure from recent years. Previously, funds raised by runners who selected Mind were sent to the national charity.

Guernsey Mind warmly welcomes applications from both experienced and novice marathon runners. The organization will provide support to the selected runner throughout their training journey, aiming to foster an environment that promotes both physical fitness and mental well-being.

The closing date for potential runners to apply to Guernsey Mind is 23rd May 2025. The winning runner will be revealed on 20th June 2025. With this campaign, Guernsey Mind hopes to fundraise to support their new initiative. They hope to increase understanding of mental health issues in the community.

Alongside its involvement in the London Marathon, Guernsey Mind will additionally be running a 10km challenge in August. This event is designed to bring the community together in a fun way and raise awareness that active lifestyles can positively impact mental health.

More than 1,400 nonprofits signed up to the London Marathon as charity partners. This means Guernsey Mind can put the money their chosen runner raises straight back into local projects.
