Known by her handle @Megnutt02, Nutt began posting content on TikTok at the age of 17, unbeknownst to her parents. Her very first video garnered 10,000 views, setting the stage for a remarkable career in content creation. Although she graduated high school as a straight-A student with a 4.0 GPA, Nutt made the bold decision to decline a full scholarship to Florida International University, where she was set to study business at the honors college.
Nutt's decision to forgo traditional education for a career on TikTok was fueled by her intuition and determination. She spends approximately 11 hours daily filming new content, a commitment that has earned her millions of likes and a substantial fanbase. Despite the initial backlash she received online, Nutt persisted in her efforts.
“I’d post myself dancing and I got so much hate – but I also got so many more followers,” she noted.
Her perseverance has paid off handsomely. Nutt's earnings from TikTok have allowed her not only to travel the world but also to purchase a house, achievements few her age can claim. Reflecting on her financial independence, she expressed confidence in her choice to pursue a non-traditional career path.
“I am more financially stable than if I had gone to college, and I’m more financially stable than most 22-year-olds,” she shared.
Though she once envisioned herself as a lawyer, Nutt's career trajectory took an unexpected turn when she committed to growing her TikTok presence, driven by a gut feeling.
“It wasn’t something I’d ever considered would be my career, but it became lucrative,” she admitted.
Despite facing judgments from others who perceive her job as easy, Nutt emphasizes the dedication required behind the scenes.
“People judge me, but I think they’re just jealous. They feel like my job is easy and that anyone can do it,” Nutt explained. “I put in more hours every day than I would if I had a traditional job.”
Her decision to follow her passion has been met with support from her family.
“They are both supportive and just want me to be happy,” she said.
