A Florida woman got the surprise of her life when she woke up to a 7-foot-11 alligator in her kitchen. That shocking event has been all over social media since. This strange encounter, along with footage showing two enormous alligators lingering around her home’s porch, has left many residents in the Sunshine State both amused and alarmed.
Here’s what the shocked homeowner posted to Reddit in her original post that went viral. Initially, she assumed someone was attempting to burgle her house while she relaxed watching TV. Instead, the surprise marauders were actually the two alligators that wandered up to her front door. The family’s Ring camera captured the reptiles making their way to the front door. One alligator went so far as to jump up on its hind legs, appearing like a human as it stuck its face against the door.
As the situation unfolded, a local wildlife expert, Matt Devitt, posted the homeowner’s photos on X, prompting a wave of reactions from the public. The many Floridians who’ve experienced this surreal reality can surely attest, as strange run-ins with the reptile have been an almost regular occurrence across the state.
