Colorado Springs Nightclub Raid Leads to Detention of 114 Illegal Migrants

Early Sunday morning, law enforcement officers kicked down the doors and stormed an underground techno nightclub in Colorado Springs. They managed to arrest 114 illegal migrants throughout the operation. The venue, it was claimed, was regularly frequented by members of the violent transnational MS-13 gang. More than 300 federal and local law enforcement officers were involved with the suspicious operation. Included in that number were over a dozen active-duty service members who had been working undercover.

And of course, the final act was when hundreds of DEA agents stormed this gay nightclub. At the time, no more than 200 people still remained inside. The DEA Rocky Mountain Field Division confirmed, “200 people were inside – at least 114 in the U.S. illegally.” This multi-jurisdictional operation resulted in the arrest of two individuals with felony warrants. In addition, it contributed to public safety through seizures of illegal drugs and weapons.

The plan required active-duty service members who would crash the club, as though they were shown up security guards or club-goers. Their work was instrumental in collecting intelligence and setting up the raid. Jonathan C. Pullen recounted how, “What was going on inside was really serious drug trafficking, prostitution, crimes of violence. It was both a blessing and a curse because we seized a lot of guns in there. We found that active-duty service members are essentially running security at the club and involved in many of these crimes.”

On Monday, the DEA spokesman cheered the operation’s success. He attributed that to President Trump’s charge, which focuses to some extent on illegal immigration and the criminal element that comes with it. The teamwork between federal and local agencies was impressive and a testament to the commitment by all those involved to fight organized crime and protect our communities.

The ensuing raid was shown in shocking footage as DEA agents pushed their way into the nightclub. Their authoritative command was clear: “This is the police with a search warrant demanding entry. Exit the front door one at a time with nothing in your hands, held high above your head.”

Attorney General Pamela Bondi provided these details about the arrests. The operation played a very important role in disrupting criminal networks around the country, she emphasized.
