Baby Raves Bring Family Fun and Music Together in New York City

Baby raves have officially touched down in the Big Apple! These high-energy, colorful parties connect young kids and their families with a fun, safe space for playing, dancing and jumping around to awesome music. These family-friendly gatherings, led by a growing trend, provide a unique opportunity for millennial parents to bond with their children while enjoying the pulsating beats of remixed nursery rhymes.

Australian local Toddler Techno founder Lenny Pearce has been one of the original trailblazers behind this movement. It all started when he began remixing nursery rhymes to create music for his toddler. His passion quickly turned into Boom’s internationally renowned, family-friendly raves all across Australia, Asia and the world. Now, Pearce’s events draw thousands of attendees, selling upward of 100,000 tickets across the world. This June, he’ll be taking his unique idea to New York City, fanning the flame of fresh buzz for baby raves.

One terrific example of this trend in NYC is Little Ravers. Held every Saturday, this Brooklyn-based event draws huge crowds of families. These 90-minute gatherings feature EDM-styled remixes of popular children’s songs, such as “Baby Shark,” alongside face painting and party favors like juice boxes for kids and canned cocktails for adults. During the event, the atmosphere is electric, with families gathering to dance and celebrate together.

Co-founder Adam Lewis paints a picture of the scene at these events.

“Kids go all out on the dance floor, loving every second of the lights, music and interactive elements. But we’ve also seen parents relive their festival days, dancing just as hard — sometimes harder — than their kids.” – Adam Lewis

Baby raves lure moms and dads in with more than catchy tunes. They represent a deeper change in culture, as millennial parents take on the challenge of being more involved in their children’s lives than previous generations. Pearce emphasizes the importance of this connection.

“We like to be present with our children. We want to spend more time with our kids. We want to be the best parents we can be and guide them down the right path.” – Lenny Pearce

Angie Mitola thrilled by her first ever experience at a Little Ravers event. She even themed her daughter’s first birthday party “Baby’s First Rave.” As a family, she thinks it is important to expose her child to this beautiful culture.

“As we bring her into the scene, I want to keep what’s at the core of it. It’s just about having fun and showing respect to the people around you.” – Angie Mitola

Families at Little Ravers events enjoy a festive atmosphere that promotes values encapsulated by the raver code of conduct: Peace, Love, Unity, Respect (PLUR). This principle is hugely popular among attendees, as they party together in an atmosphere of collaboration and celebration.

Kelly Bond went to her first Little Ravers event with her twins. She shared about how rewarding the experience is for adult volunteers and children alike.

“This is kind of perfect because we [the parents] can enjoy it and they [the kids] can enjoy it too.” – Kelly Bond

Zakkiyya Reece wrote in with her story after attending a Little Ravers event with her husband and three-year-old son Avery.

“What made it so extra special was that it was something so unique.” – Zakkiyya Reece

From live music to yoga, the Little Ravers events are aimed to entertain the kiddos and parents alike. As Hannah describes it:

“It’s our Saturday too, right? Like, we want to have fun.” – Hannah

These events are a win because they reflect a larger, positive trend among parents. This trend is all about making experiences between mom and their kids. The juxtaposition of high-energy music and walkable, family-friendly atmosphere sets the stage for important conversations and unforgettable experiences.

Baby rave craze sweeping New York City — and beyond! It’s more than just fun, fantastic entertainment — it’s a conduit bringing families together and enriching our communities in the process. The welcoming mix of music and local culture draws families in for an uplifting, educational adventure. These interactive experiences celebrated who they are, deepening their experience of living with vibrancy and creating powerful community connection and joy.
