Australian Woman Sets Guinness World Record with Enormous Minions Collection

Australian woman Liesl Benecke has achieved an impossible Guinness World Record. She amassed the world’s largest collection of Minions memorabilia! Her collection, started 15 years ago, now features an astonishingly diverse 1,035 unique pieces. This beautifully packaged set includes shirts, film posters, plush dolls, key chains and more. Each piece features everyone’s favorite tiny yellow mischief-makers from the “Despicable Me” movie franchise!

Benecke found her passion for Minions when the first “Despicable Me” movie came out. Ever since, she has traveled as far as Sri Lanka and New Zealand, all driven by this persistent passion. Through her collecting travels, she has visited Singapore, Japan, Italy, the US, Portugal, Taiwan, and China. Her commitment really shines through, too—just check out this tattoo of her favorite Minion, Stuart, proudly showing off his mischief on her forearm.

“The Minions are my source of happiness and their weird and wacky ways never fail to make me laugh.” – Liesl Benecke

Her coworkers have dubbed her “the Minion lady,” a tongue-in-cheek reference to her well-known passion for the characters. Benecke’s daughters play an equally important role in her collecting adventures. Especially the memories of a family trip to Singapore where their mother had her birthday celebrated at Universal Studios, meeting Minions.

“My daughters said I never looked happier on that day.” – Liesl Benecke

Supports, call me Natasha by Benecke Loading… Friends and family even help fill Benecke’s ever-growing collection. They often serve as her live “Minion shoppers,” helping her discover where new pieces should be added to her collection.

“They send me pictures when they are out shopping asking ‘do you have this one?’ And if I don’t, I get them to buy it for me – you could say they are my Minion shoppers.” – Liesl Benecke

Benecke’s home is proof of her passion for these lively characters. Each room and wall is plastered with Minions, making the whole facility a colorful, happy place. Her S-part car isn’t much different, pleasing children and adults alike with vibrant colors and whimsical designs.

“They are in every room and on every spare wall … The back of my car is filled with Minions and when I stop at traffic lights I see people pointing and laughing at all the Minions in my car.” – Liesl Benecke
