Amanda Bynes, the former child star known for her roles in popular television series, has announced her entry into the world of adult entertainment via OnlyFans, setting her monthly subscription fee at $50. She decided to do this in the wake of a string of personal hardships. Legal and other troubles have followed her off stage as well since her career took flight in the late 1990s.
Bynes first came to prominence in 1996, when she was cast on Nickelodeon’s sketch comedy show “All That.” Her stardom hit an all-time high with her own sitcom, “The Amanda Show”, which aired from 1999-2002. She chewed the WB network’s comedic scenery as Holly Tyler on the sitcom “What I Like About You.” She truly embodied the character during her run from 2002-2006.
Then, in 2013, Bynes’s career went off the rails. She was put on a 5150 hold for psychiatric evaluation because of her erratic behavior. After this ordeal, her parents placed her into a conservatorship, which would last for almost 10 years. In 2015, only two years into her conservatorship, she found herself in legal hot water once more. Her arrest this time came with charges of driving under the influence.
Over the next few years, Bynes faced even more legal trouble that added to her downward spiral. In 2023, these encounters resulted in our second 72-hour involuntary psychiatric hold. During the time that this was happening, she was found naked on the streets of downtown Los Angeles.
In 2018, Bynes spoke about her acting career, admitting that she was unhappy with her time in Hollywood. “It’s not as great as you think to be an actress,” she said. Perhaps most impressive was her self-awareness of her own misjudged performance in the movie Easy A. “…I literally could not like the way I looked in that movie and I didn’t like my performance at all,” she admitted. Read how she turned her shocking decision to stop acting at only 24 years old into a beautiful new career. Boldly, she proclaimed, “I know 24 is a young age to retire, but you heard it here first.”
Though her conservatorship was not dissolved until 2022, independence she seemed to find on her own will give her greater freedom. Since then, she’s taken different roads, most recently in and out of school again working towards a cosmetology career. I did not yet pass the board exam for my manicurist license so I returned to school. I’m in manicurist theory and on my acrylics to getting ready to take the test again,” she added. I’ll be ready when I get hired at a nail parlor.
Bynes shared an exuberant homecoming reunion this summer with co-host of the event Austin Babbitt, as A-Town devotees good and proper welcomed her back. Prominent attendees included singer Noah Cyrus, who shared her support for Bynes’s journey on social media. We’re so proud of you, chica! A legend in your own time, you have kept us all laughing for more than 40 years! 〈3 Cyrus said. Go thrive! Learn, break down and rebuild, we have your back forever!
Good luck to Amanda Bynes as she opens a new chapter with OnlyFans. Her complex decision reflects her artistic ambitions outside of conventional acting opportunities. Her experiences have certainly influenced her outlook on the entertainment industry and life in general.
