Colorado Tops the List of States Searching for Ashley Madison

Based on new research, Colorado ranks number one in the country for searches for infidelity website Ashley Madison. This controversial dating app serves married people seeking extramarital affairs. The research analyzed quantitative search data from 80 popular dating apps. It uncovered a shocking demand for adultery in all 50 states.

Coloradans searched for Ashley Madison an average of 424 searches per 100,000 residents, taking home first place. North Dakota had the next highest rate, with 362 searches per 100,000 people. New Hampshire took third place with 357 searches. Other states with significant showings are Connecticut, with 335 searches per capita and New York, with 331.

Ashley Madison’s popularity has since exploded. Today it is the third most popular dating app search term in the US, behind Tinder and BLK. Few issues generate more debate among those same experts and analysts than state versus federal roles on this topic. Its targeted nature is appealing to married people looking for affairs.

“That is why interdisciplinary collaboration is so important,” said Aart Van Dijk, a researcher directly engaged in the study.

“This research goes to show that there is a widespread interest in having an affair among married people in the US, with almost one million searches for the platform every month,” – Aart Van Dijk.

The numbers suggest that there’s an increasing appetite for Ashley Madison at least in terms of interest. States such as Nebraska, Massachusetts, and Montana are getting on board with this movement. Surprisingly, New York does not top the list for searches for the controversial enabling platform. It still managed to find its way into the top ten states actively pursuing it.

Infidelity expert, Madeline Smith, provided her perspective. She shared the themes that she has seen emerge in her practice.

“It is interesting to see which states are searching for Ashley Madison the most. The controversial app is made specifically for married people looking to have an affair, so its popularity may come as a surprise to some,” – Aart Van Dijk.

Madeline Smith, an expert on relationships and infidelity, also shared her insights. She highlighted the patterns she observes in her work.

“Almost all of the messages I receive are from women saying that something just doesn’t feel right and, sadly, they’re usually right,” – Madeline Smith.

Smith provided advice for those who suspect infidelity.

“If in doubt, call him out – or engage the services of someone like me!” – Madeline Smith.
