A health trust providing physical and mental health services in Shropshire and Staffordshire has received a commendable rating following a recent inspection. In January, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) took a look. It’s a testament to the trust’s commitment to improving its services that their report fully admits the shortcomings that still exist.
The trust is currently running units like that at The Redwoods Centre in Shrewsbury, and at St George’s Hospital Stafford. What is at stake Moreover, it provides a wealth of other core services such as adult social care support and services for people with learning disabilities. Together, these efforts take a holistic approach designed to provide strong, well-coordinated care in all areas of health and wellness.
Andy Brand, CQC deputy director of operations in the Midlands, said it was “encouraging” to see the progress being reported on. On this occasion, he reported that trust had made good use of insight from earlier inspections to improve its work.

According to the report, users of the service described feeling safe, listened to and supported by the staff on site. This excellent feedback is a testament to the Trust’s commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment for their patients.

Brand drew attention to the cooperative culture seen between other wards and teams across the trust. He touched upon the importance of a collaborative approach to providing high-quality, value-based care.
