Paislee Bial, a 30-year-old Melbourne resident, transitioned from a modest career in interior design to a lucrative venture on OnlyFans. Despite initial challenges, Bial now earns up to $9,373 monthly by creating content on the platform. Her journey underscores the potential and pitfalls of pursuing a non-traditional career path.
Bial graduated with a degree in architecture in January 2020, but struggled to find financial stability in Australia. With her interior design job earning her approximately $18 an hour, she found it difficult to make ends meet, earning around $37,500 annually. Money struggles were not new to her, having faced them during her university years, which significantly impacted her mental health.
“I was not making much at all working as an interior designer, about $18 an hour and I worked 9-5,” she explained.
Inspired by friends who found success on OnlyFans, Bial decided to try her hand at the platform, aiming for greater financial independence. However, her initial foray into creating X-rated content revealed the challenges of establishing oneself in a competitive online space. With only a couple of hundred followers at the start, Bial earned about $188 over the first six months, mirroring the average monthly earnings of many OnlyFans users.
“When I had started I only had a couple of hundred followers. For the first six months, I made about $188; persistence is key,” she noted.
Bial's persistence paid off as her earnings increased substantially over time. She now enjoys the flexibility that comes with not adhering to traditional 9-5 working hours, allowing her to explore creative endeavors and travel.
“The way I experience life has changed for the better. I get to work on trips, meet people, work on photo shoots and tell my story. I really feel I am getting the most out of life and enjoying myself,” Bial shared.
Her new lifestyle grants her the freedom to choose her projects and collaborators, utilizing her creativity in ways that were previously unavailable.
“My freedom has changed. Specifically choosing what I want to do, who I work with, how I spend my time and how I use my creativity,” she added.
Although she has yet to invest in property, Bial remains financially prudent, planning for her future while enjoying her current success.
“I haven’t bought a house yet, because I don’t feel it is the right time for me, but I would definitely like to spend more on trips. I am not a person who is reckless with money, so I like to invest and plan my future.”
