The findings indicate that sharp, bold features, such as chiseled jawlines, are often linked to masculinity, while soft and delicate features, including full lips, are typically associated with femininity. This distinction reflects societal norms and ideals that influence individuals' perceptions of attractiveness.
Furthermore, the study highlighted a growing trend where people seek plastic surgery to achieve specific facial characteristics they believe will enhance their desirability. The researchers noted that these perceptions are often rooted in personal biases based on individual facial features.
