Unusual Theft Leaves Restaurateur Baffled as Sink Disappears

Robert Melman, a seasoned restaurateur with 25 years of experience, found himself in disbelief after an unusual theft at his restaurant, Jardim Rodizio Grill, located in Altrincham, Greater Manchester. On the evening of Thursday, February 20, someone broke into the establishment and stole his $3803.87 electric bicycle. However, the theft took an unexpected turn when a woman entered the restaurant's restroom and left with the bathroom sink tucked inside a large black bag.

CCTV footage captured the bizarre incident, showing the woman entering the toilets with what appeared to be an empty bag and leaving with it noticeably bulging. The stolen sink was valued at $190.19. Interestingly, as she exited, the woman stopped by the buffet but did not take any food, leaving both staff and patrons bewildered.

The theft has left Robert puzzled, not just by the act itself but also by the thief's apparent knowledge of how to access and dismantle the sink with ease.

"The only thing that surprised me is how the person knew that it's very easy access to that, and that it would be very easy to dismantle." – Robert

Despite experiencing similar incidents before, Robert chose not to report this particular theft to the police. He expressed his reasoning, citing more pressing issues for law enforcement to address.

"I don't think for this thing I need to bother the police, I don't know." – Robert

Originally from Argentina, Robert moved to England and has dedicated over two decades to the hospitality industry. Unfortunately, theft has become an all-too-familiar occurrence in his line of work. While he remains frustrated by such incidents, he continues to focus on providing quality service to his patrons.
