Dad’s Pricey Burger King Experience Sparks Airport Food Debate

A father was taken aback by the exorbitant cost of fast food at Burger King in Antalya Airport, Turkey. He spent a staggering £83.75 ($106.07 USD) on what he described as a "proxy" burger meal. The order included three burgers, three sodas, four orders of fries, one order of onion rings, and mayonnaise. Notably, two of the burgers were so thin they resembled the size of an envelope.

The dad, who shares his travel experiences on TikTok under the handle @travellingdad, expressed his dissatisfaction with a video showcasing the meal and its accompanying price tag. His post quickly attracted attention and sparked a debate about airport food prices, which are notoriously high.

In the comments section of the video, one user mirrored the dad's frustration, noting that Antalya Airport is "super expensive." Others were less sympathetic, questioning his decision to purchase the meal in the first place.

“Looked at the prices, bought it anyway and then make a video to have a moan about it,” – one person

Some commenters suggested more practical solutions to avoid such situations.

“It’s really simple, don’t buy from them,” – another person

“The funny thing is … you encourage this behaviour by purchasing it,” – someone else

Another user highlighted that transparency in pricing is key.

“People, the prices are up there, it’s not robbery if they display the price you choose to pay it,” – a user

The dad's strong reaction to the high prices included a vow to avoid returning to Turkey.

“I’ll never go back to Turkey, it’s a complete rip off now,” – someone

The conversation also turned practical as some shared their own strategies for avoiding high airport food costs.

“Always take your own food to the airport and avoid the daylight robbery,” – another person

One commenter humorously reflected on their own experience at the airport.

“Only been to Turkey once but the airport had us flabbergasted 😂 burger & chips nearly cost more than the holiday,” – a commenter
