Jason Kelce, a former NFL player renowned for his 13-season tenure with the Philadelphia Eagles, retired from professional football in March 2024. As a stalwart of the Eagles, Kelce made his mark not only on the field but also off it. In the stands at the 2025 Super Bowl, he cheered for his former teammates and his brother, Travis Kelce, showcasing the deep bonds he has with both the Eagles organization and his family. This duality in his loyalties became particularly evident following the 2023 Super Bowl, where the brothers faced off in an intense match.
Jason and Travis Kelce launched their podcast, "New Heights," in September 2022, which has become a unique platform for them to connect and share insights. Before this initiative, the brothers would often go months without speaking. Through the podcast, Jason serves more as a cheerleader than a mentor for his brother.
“I try not to be too much of an advice person and more like a support person [for Travis],” Jason explained.
Despite their competitive history, such as when Travis led the Kansas City Chiefs to triumph over the Eagles with a score of 38-35 in the 2023 Super Bowl, Jason harbors a deep respect for his brother's achievements.
“He has amassed greatness few on this planet could ever dream of, as has his team, and they should feel pride in their accomplishments this season and in the past,” Jason noted.
Jason's affection for the Eagles remains strong. He openly shares how conflicted he felt watching the 2023 Super Bowl.
“That game was odd for me to watch if I’m being completely honest,” he admitted.
Balancing his role as a supportive brother and a loyal fan of the Eagles proved challenging.
“On one hand, I wanted what is best for my brother, and to see his success,” Jason stated. “And on the other hand, there are so many people, teammates, and coaches, in the Philadelphia Eagles organization that I care deeply about, many of whom I owe my own success to throughout my career.”
The creation of "New Heights" has allowed Jason to bridge these two important parts of his life. He cherishes the opportunity to reconnect with Travis regularly.
“The best part of the podcast is just getting to talk to Trav,” he shared. “Before we started the podcast, we would go months sometimes without talking to each other.”
