Tragic Loss: Influencer Denisse Reyes Dies Following Unauthorized Liposuction

Denisse Reyes, a 27-year-old Mexican social media influencer, has tragically passed away after complications from a liposuction procedure. The surgery, performed at the unauthorized San Pablo Medical Clinic in Chiapas, resulted in a series of unfortunate events that led to her untimely death. Reyes, who gained fame in 2022, leaves behind an eight-year-old son.

On Wednesday, following the surgery, Reyes experienced severe complications and was rushed to Manzur Hospital. Despite medical intervention, she did not survive. According to her uncle, Ammao Rodriguez, Reyes had no prior health conditions that would have indicated a risk for such a procedure.

The surgeon involved, Dr. Orlando Gamboa, has claimed that he was not directly involved in Reyes' surgery. However, he administered an intravenous medication prior to the procedure, which later led to a negative reaction from Reyes. Rodriguez recounted the events leading to her death, stating, “She starts to feel sick and goes into cardiac arrest and at that moment they take her out of the room where she was in the [clinic].”

Reyes’ sister, Massiel Reyes, took to Facebook to express her grief. She described her sister as a vibrant individual who lived life to the fullest. “You were a woman who always did what she wanted and went 1000% in her life, too free, spontaneous, extroverted, that was you,” she wrote. In a heart-wrenching message, she added, “Sister, I love you with all my heart, what is happening hurts my soul, I would like to turn back time but it no longer exists.”

The circumstances surrounding Reyes' death have sparked outrage and calls for justice among her followers and family members. Rodriguez is currently in contact with Chiapas health authorities and is planning to file a lawsuit against Dr. Gamboa for his alleged negligence. “May the authorities do justice to Denisse and may the doctor pay in some way for what he did,” Rodriguez urged.

This incident is not isolated; Dr. Gamboa was previously accused of being responsible for another death linked to liposuction in December 2024. The unauthorized status of San Pablo Medical Clinic raises further concerns about safety protocols and regulations in cosmetic procedures.

As the family mourns Reyes' loss online, social media has seen an outpouring of condolences and shock from fans and followers alike. The tragic outcome of this situation highlights the potential dangers associated with cosmetic surgery performed outside of regulated environments.
