Meghan McCain Criticizes Meghan Markle’s New Netflix Series as “Out of Touch”

Meghan McCain
, once an admirer of Meghan Markle, has voiced her disapproval of Markle’s latest venture, the Netflix series “With Love, Meghan.” Initially, McCain found Markle to be “cool, stylish, and refreshing,” but her opinion shifted following what she perceived as Markle’s disrespect towards the royal family. McCain publicly criticized the upcoming series for being disconnected from current societal issues.

The series is set to premiere on Netflix on January 15 and will feature Meghan Markle alongside guest stars such as Roy Choi, Mindy Kaling, and Alice Waters. Despite Markle's previous success with cooking content on social media, McCain argues that "With Love, Meghan" feels overly curated and fails to resonate with the pressing concerns of today.

"Now that she wants to be American again instead of British aristocracy what she seems to forget is Americans want real, raw, uncensored," McCain stated on X (formerly Twitter).

McCain further elaborated on her stance by suggesting that the series concept was poorly advised. She proposed that Markle could have used her platform to address significant issues, such as bringing fresh food to food deserts in low-income neighborhoods.

"This concept is ill advised. I would have told her to do a show helping bring fresh food to food deserts in low income neighborhoods. Do something to help people instead of your ego. This is why the world doesn’t like you, nothing else. Just completely and utterly tone deaf to the moment," McCain remarked.

The public response to McCain's critique has been mixed. While some agree with her perspective, others defend Markle by referencing her earlier social media posts from 2014 and 2015, which often included cooking content. Additionally, Markle recently made a return to Instagram, further fueling the conversation around her latest project.

"All of this even in the trailer is highly curated, produced and out of touch," McCain commented.

Markle's new series aims to build on her existing social media presence with cooking-related content. However, McCain believes the timing and approach lack sensitivity to current global challenges.

"We are a country in rage, uncertainty and intensity right now," McCain highlighted.
